Victory in Aragon As Title Fight Goes To Barcelona

That’s a wrap up on a successful weekend for the team in Aragon, for the penultimate round of the GT4 Winter Series. Following an incredibly tight qualifying, Jamie Day secured Pole Position for the first Sprint Race of the weekend - with Mikey Porter swiftly following up with 2nd in Q2, falling short of Pole Position by just 0.002 of a second.

As Saturday afternoon rolled round, Jamie was first up to try and secure a strong result for the team as the battle for those all important Championship points continued to intensify. Following a strong start, he quickly found his groove and set about building a dominant 14 second race lead before eventually crossing the line to secure yet another victory for the team.

With a new day, came a fresh opportunity for Mikey Porter as he stepped up for his Sprint Race. Starting out on the front row, it was all to play for, but unfortunately following a small but ultimately costly mistake in the first half of the sprint he dropped back to 3rd position. Despite an impressive fight back, and with rapidly closing gap as the race went on, he wasn’t quite able to make the move for 2nd place before the chequered flag came out - he crossed the line 3rd, effortlessly maintaining the teams impressive 100% podium finish record.

Moving into Sunday afternoon, it was time for the 1 Hour Endurance, where a combination of fastest times in qualifying the day before put Mikey & Jamie on Pole Position. Following an eventful race which threw pretty much everything their way including Yellow Flags, a Safety Car, and even a Red Flag - it was by no means a straight forward battle, but both Jamie and Mikey were able to keep out of trouble, building a a sizeable gap on the chasing pack and bringing home another victory for the team, and Mikey’s second GT4 career victory.

With the celebrations now out the way, the team shifts their focus towards Barcelona and the season finale - where despite a sizeable points lead, the title is as yet to be decided. They will be looking to pull out all of the stops to secure the first of hopefully many titles for the team. This one is not to be missed so keep tabs on our social pages for details on where to watch.
